SPECC strived to provide the very best in animal welfare by rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing stray/abandoned, sick/injured cats and unwanted small pets. Whilst in our care, we aim to nurse all our animals back to good health and provide aftercare and support once they have been re-homed. It is our policy never to put a healthy animal to sleep no matter what it's background. We aim to re-home all of our foster animals once they are well enough to leave our carers. Unfortunately not all of the animals we rescue can be re- homed, in these cases they live in the homes of our fosterers as part of their family. We offer a strict homing policy which involves a pre-arranged home visit to assess individuals circumstances and to complete a short application form. This ensures we can, hopefully, offer a rescued animal to suit existing lifestyles and environment. Sadly omitting this procedure could result in animals being returned due to incompatibility with their new owners. We believe getting this new relationship right at the start, both adds to the enjoyment of owning your new pet and reduces additional stress and upset to the animal. ( It is not about re-homing as many as we can as fast as possible but ensuring they stay in the home they have found.) We are all unpaid volunteers and receive no government funding. We rely on donations to continue our work. If you are interested in offering a home and live in the Hull area or surrounding villages, please ring us on 01482 823090 Please leave a land line number where possible. Return calls to mobiles will be made on a weekend to keep costs down. Thank you. We ask for a donation of *£45 for a cat or a kitten If you adopt two at the same time its just *£75. This is not a purchase it is to help towards the cost of neutering, ID chipping and flea/worm treatment. All cats and kittens are treated for fleas and worms Adult cats are neutered and ID chipped before being re-homed Kittens will be neutered and ID chipped when they reach 6 months of age, at no extra cost to the owner. * This has been reduced because we have had to suspend our vaccination program. Cats and kittens that have already been vaccinated £55 or £90 for two
